So far I LOVE the new modeling done to the environment, for some time I was thinking of scratching out the first part of the short simply cause my attempt was kind of - terrible. Thanks to Dan's awesome modeling skills, that first shot sequence is staying and in fact I am planning on making it quite a long shot as well!
Also I did notice the third rail on the tracks! I totally did not even think about that one so good job!
The only major thing left modeling wise is the end cap tunnels, again I tried to do it but my modeling skills are about nil…. almost makes me feel like I am just near worthless now lol (kidding) so hopefully once those get done I can consider the modeling done.
As for the duplivert instancing, I think the only left to do with that is the hand railing objects, mainly because the pipe system might be a bit tricky to do this way not to mention the new shader design idea we have going on - the pipes would be repeating far too much so I think I will keep them as is.
This week I will be setting up a test camera animation that will try to follow the storyboard as much as possible, I think I will be adding more time to the sequence mainly. Since it is intended to be the intro to the short, having a longer camera movement might be a good thing - adds drama to it, builds up to the scene below.
Since the shader idea is a bit complex at this time I will be working on that this week and hopefully have some sort of preview made…. YAY! First preview shot!
